GRANTS 

2024 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Design

The Vilcek Foundation will award three Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise of $50,000 each to young, immigrant designers who demonstrate outstanding early achievement in design.

Who Should Apply
– You were born outside the United States to non-American parents
– You are not more than 38 years old
– You have 5 years of professional experience in design and possess a strong track record of creative and high-caliber work

Eligible Categories
Digital design: experience design, game design, information design/data visualization, interaction design, software design, systems design, etc.
Graphic design: branding, communication design, identity, packaging design, etc.
Product design: furniture design, industrial design, lighting design, materials design, transportation design, etc.
Social design: ecological design, equitable design, inclusive design, service design, sustainable design, etc.

Amount:$50,000 unrestricted cash prize is awarded to each winner

ArtPrize Call For Artists

ArtPrize is an open, international art competition which takes place for 18 days in the fall in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At each event, the voting public decides the winners of $400,000 in prizes, including a $125,000 grand prize. Any artist working in any medium from anywhere in the world can participate.

Amount: Grand Prize Winner: $125,000; 2nd Place: $50,000; 3rd Place: $25,000

Eligibility:  Any artist working in any medium from anywhere in the world

The Circ Artist Grants

The Circ Artist Grants are open to emerging, mid-career, and professional artists in an international open call, several times throughout the year.

The Circ Artist Grant provides unrestricted funding to artists with a demonstrated commitment to their art. Two artists per grant cycle are awarded $1000 each to enhance and further their creative practice.

Amount: $1000 for two artists per grant cycle

Eligibility: Emerging, mid-career, and mature artists are eligible and encouraged to apply

Deadline: June 30, 2023

Application Fee: $25 non-refundable application fee.

Getty Images Creative Accelerator 2023

The Creative Accelerator program is a new initiative from Getty Images to support and empower early-career imagery makers from underrepresented communities.

Amount: $500 for 50 specially selected applicants

Eligibility:You are an early‑career image maker (5‑7 years professional); You already have proficiency in creating high‑quality commercial imagery in your chosen format; You are very interested in learning about Getty Images Creative content and how it can be a value add to your practice; You work in any of the following formats: 
* Still photographs 
* Video/Filmmaking 
* 3D conceptual art

June 2023 Grants for African Creatives/Visual Artists_Getty Images Creative Accelerator Program

The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant

The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant is one of the most prestigious grants available to emerging representational artists, as well as one of the most substantial. 

Amount: 1st grants: CAD $17,000; Subsequent grants:  CAD $20,000

The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant

The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation.

Each grant is given as one-time assistance for a specific emergency, examples of which are fire, flood, or emergency medical need.

Amount:$5,000 typically granted; $15,000 max

RESIDENCIES

Prairie Ronde Artist Residency

We’re looking for individuals who are highly independent, engaged and curious. We do not limit our residency to any specific medium, but rather are looking for diverse artists who can creatively interact with The Mill.

We host three sessions annually and accept 2 – 4 residents per session. Accepted residents receive a stipend of $2,000 for 5 – 7 weeks, a $500 travel grant and private housing. We work with residents to share their work with the community (a gallery show, public workshop or other).

Stipend: $2,000 for 5 – 7 weeks + $500 travel grant

3rd Annual Peace Love Art: Showcase & Charity Art Sale

In celebration of World Art Day (April 15th), Artists+Causes is hosting a Call for Artists for our 2nd annual Peace Love Art: Showcase & Art Sale.

We have partnered with professional athletes and entertainers to support important causes and the creative community.

Join us as we bring together artists and art enthusiasts to showcase and sell art in support for meaningful causes and the creative community!

Cue Art Foundation Open Call

CUE’s open call for solo exhibitions is now accepting applications! The open call builds upon CUE’s mission to support emerging and underrecognized artists. Selected artists are awarded an opportunity to present their work in a solo exhibition at CUE’s gallery space during the 2024 calendar year.

Each awardee will be paired with a mentor, an established artist or curator who will work with them throughout the process of planning and installing the exhibition. CUE provides a generous honorarium to each awardee, as well as a budget for transport of artwork and materials for on-site installation of the works in the show. CUE staff also provides guidance on project conceptualization and exhibition design in our space, communication and outreach support, identity and graphic design development, photography and visual assets, professional development assistance, and more.

Award: $5,000 honorarium
