Description
Creating art has always been a source of joy for me, something I’ve cherished since my childhood. However, it wasn’t until 2020 that I realized my true calling in life: to bring happiness to people by sharing my gift for recreating images. My journey has been far from easy, marked by a lack of confidence in myself due to the torment I endured from childhood friends who bullied and hurt me, at times to a life-threatening extent.
In 2020, I found myself in a dire situation when I had to live with a friend who threatened to bully me relentlessly because I refused to engage in certain activities with him. Fearing for my safety, I fled and have since lived in constant fear of the unknown, often feeling isolated even in the company of others.
I was pursuing my education at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic until I reached a point where I couldn’t afford to pay my tuition. My father, unable to provide financial support, turned down my plea for help. My mother, although not employed, did her best to ensure I had enough to eat. This forced me to abandon my education.
Despite these challenges, I have continued to pour my heart into my artwork. I find solace in the belief that, even amidst chaos, good things can still happen. My art has become my lifeline, giving me hope that someone who appreciates my work will open doors for me. I envision that those who purchase my art will recommend my talents to others who may wish to collaborate with me. Through this, I hope to find a way to finance my education. With the help of God, I see my artistic talent as a means of saving myself and building a brighter future.
