I am Ibiere Dede, a Nigeria-based digital artist with no prior educational background in Art, for I create based on my inherent talent. I started creating art the moment my Dad let me handle a pencil on my own.
Through art, I have explored various realms such as Earth, Jupiter, space, and underwater. Sitting comfortably, tablet in hand, stylus pen between my fingers, and with a “bibbidi bobbidi boo” motion, I bring to life whatever I desire, transporting myself to where I want to be and allowing me to see what I wish to see.
Art is my travel ticket, and it only costs me a few hours. Sometimes, the journey extends into days, leaving me with a sense of jet lag. However, in the end, I immerse myself in the beauty that emanates from those realms.
I find muse in everything beautiful; Humans, Plants, Animals, Underwater aesthetics, etc. As an Artist, I believe that my ideas are too beautiful to be choked up in my head. I hope that someday I get to spread this beautiful palette of colors submerged in my mind’s eyes, with the whole of Mankind.
To an Average Nigerian, “Art isn’t a valid route to succeeding in Life.” With grace, I have taken this Path regardless of this myopic myth. I stand a chance to make a difference in the 21st Century.
My art piece titled Dolphoria was part of a street-wide exhibition hosted by the Belmont Shore Business Association on 2nd Street, Long Beach, California, United States of America. October – December 2023. My art piece titled Croctastic was displayed on screen in Jo Cope’s Wisdom in Your Feet art exhibition in the Hubsleaford, United Kingdom. January – March 2024.
It is such a great feeling to be a Masterpiece, taking part in Creation. Art is my voice and I hope that one day, the world gets to hear from my melodious palette of colours!
